Hi let me tell you a little bit about myself and how this site came about.

My name is Dana Buttenhoff and I'm a regular weekend golfer who also plays in a Wednesday evening league. I am by no means even approaching a single digit handicap. I play bogie golf and am happy and excited every time my handicap goes down a point!

I started playing golf about twenty years ago and have enjoyed most of my involvement with the sport. Once I realized there are certain things I will never be able to do and accepted my limitations I was at peace. I enjoy every round, because I know any round may be the round when I shoot my lowest score.

The thousands of other golfers from around Central Minnesota, who know me, will tell you I am no threat to break onto the PGA Tour or Senior Tour. So why would someone like me put together a golf course directory site like this?

I have been fortunate enough to play at some pretty spectacular golf courses over the years. The likes of which have been La Cantera, The Plantation Course at Kapalua and Monarch Beach all that have hosted PGA Tour events. What did I take away from these experiences? First, I could never play any of these courses from the "tips" and second is that we have some pretty spectacular golf courses here in rural Minnesota. We are very fortunate to have world-class facilities designed by world-class architects just a short distance away. We also have some fantastic 9 hole-courses that have character and charm many of which were built in the 1920's and 1930's. Although world-class architects did not build these courses, they are run and maintained by either municipal staffs or owner-operators that would be thrilled to have you as their guest.
